rendering1

Thousand Islands Rescue will host a New York State Department of Health Emergency Medical Technician course at its new facility. The class will begin at the current facility at 100 Union St in Clayton Tuesday August 16, 2016 and will then move to it’s new facility at 885 Graves Street in Clayton when construction is finalized.  The class will run Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M and some Saturdays. The class will culminate with NYS Department of Health testing date of January 19, 2017.  “I have always had a passion to teach Emergency Medical Technician and other Health and Safety classes.” states NYS Instructor Coordinator and TI-Rescue Executive Director Rolly Churchill. “I encourage anyone who wishes to advance their emergency skills capabilities and learn about saving lives to attend this class.”  “For those who volunteer for fire companies or rescue squads and perhaps those who are interested in a career in Emergency Medical Services this is a good opportunity to enroll in a locally sponsored class in northern Jefferson County.”

Those persons who may be interested in attending must pre-register with Jefferson County EMS  by calling the EMS office at 786-3760. This course has no costs for students who are members of rescue squads or local fire departments. Textbooks and a minimal related equipment is required.

May 4, 2016 By Michael Bennett

DSCF0837 (2) Even the Amish are assisting in TI-Rescue’s Building Project! The Hochstetler Family on County Route 54 in Depauville have donated a shed to TI-Rescue. The 8′ x 12′ shed will be placed on the Graves street property to house yard machinery and landscaping tools when the building is complete. This project has significant community importance that even the Amish understand the need of a new home for their local rescue squad.
